My Journey to doing what I love: Founder-Focused Transformations.. and how I can help you.
From Corporate to SME | Employed to Solopreneur | Operations to Transformations
I didn’t arrive in the world of founder transformation by accident.
Before I spent the last five years working side-by-side with founders-owners.
Before I stepped into the role of Founder Associate, Integrator, Implementer.
And before I became the person people brought in to create clarity, structure, and momentum… I was doing the work.
It wasn’t a career pivot; it was an inevitable next step driven by patterns I couldn’t ignore. For years, I worked in corporate, supporting C-suite leaders who were running fast,High-stakes decisions, and juggling responsibilities that pulled them in ten different directions. I thrive in being in the heart of the business…operations delivery
In that high-pressure environment, I learned that structure shapes behavior and clarity drives performance. I saw how easily overwhelm erodes decision-making. How deeply leadership is affected by the “invisible load” of running a complex machine and having a life.
The Moment Everything Came Together
When I went back into the SME world, everything clicked. I wasn’t just supporting, I was responsible for stabilising operations . Working with the founder while the business grew at pace. I saw the strain from the inside: tech headaches, communication silos, decisions piling up, critical processes living only in people’s heads, and teams doing their best with limited clarity.
I realised that whether it’s a corporate giant or a 10-person SME, the weight of leadership becomes unbearable without structure and a “second brain” at the core.
Dr Nancy Doyle captured this perfectly when she noted that I wasn’t just an assistant; I was her “Executive Functions,” providing the memory, timing, and organisational skills that allow a leader to stay on target. This sentiment was echoed by Disha, who shared that having someone to keep track of the business better than the founder can keep track of themselves is what keeps them sane and on schedule.
A Pattern I Couldn’t Ignore
The symptoms are always the same: a feeling of not enough time. A belief ‘only with me will it work’.
For the past five years, I’ve partnered with founders across medical services, agencies, creative studios, and consultancies.
Despite the different sectors, a quiet truth echoes everywhere: “My business is growing, but it still depends entirely on me.” Bottlenecked decisions, confused teams, and a founder with no space to breathe.
A business doing well, with Founder-Owners frustrated. Falling out of love, wondering if it is worth it and drowning in decision overload.
I soon realised I was more than a Virtual Assistant and was doing what I did best… building processes and supporting business owner get the space to build, rest, create.
In just 3 years, it became clear that it was more than remote operations, more than an OBM ( Online Business Manager), more than a Virtual Executive Assistant too.
It was liberation work. When I helped founders streamline and document, they didn’t just get organised, they changed. Dr Melanie Lee found that the greatest shift came from turning complex outlines into direct actions, creating a path where she felt far less overwhelmed than when we first connected.
Nancy got the space to write her PHD, build the business.Become a guest lecturer at Birkbeck and got a new title, Chief Research Officer at Genius Within CIC .It all started with getting time. A time blocked calendar, boundaries, day theming and building in rest, creative and doing time.
Disha focused on building business and investing in her community confident her vision flowed through to delivery. With my eyes and attention keeping her informed, her business safe, on track and productive.
From Chaos to Clarity
The answer is documentation
For many, the success is in their doing, not the documentation. Teams are build to deliver not document. The hows of success locked in heads. The result the load becomes heaviest, unshared, unscalable.
Process creates repeatable, consistent, confident delivery. Everyday Effectiveness knows this. However, they experienced the pull of doing and documenting when their team tried to manage process documentation on their own, only to see it constantly pushed to the back burner.
Within weeks of our partnership, we finalized processes that had been stalled for months, uncovering the “invisible steps” in their operations and standardizing actions they thought had to be managed case-by-case. By the end of our time together, they were tackling projects they didn’t expect to reach until the following year.
Building Foundations for the Future
When you are the expert in what you deliver but not the expert in business behind the scenes, busy might not equal profitable, success is not security. Setting up for foundation to grow from 1 to 3, 4, 10 is what you need.
As Doctor Tanya Banfield noted, the “biggest win” from working with me was the clarity and confidence instilled by establishing effective structures. It requires a practical, approachable mentor to navigate the unique challenges of setting up systems that actually serve the founder rather than adding to their to-do list.
I have completed Foundation Resets and Fixed Focus Growth projects within 3 months but I am sometimes left feeling ‘but there is more’.
I love the 3-9 month projects that get you to business as usual, and ensures that change actually holds. It is the space I think ‘phew..done’. The mining, untangling, mapping, documenting and delivery with space to iterate – 120 day container to success.
Success for me: a business ready to move on without me supporting in the business.
But connection matters so my business support evolved to include check in calls and weekly support to maintain momentum, guide and hold space for accountability.
The Pocket Partner and Founder Associate support felt right… I was doing it but now there was a path. Less intense, slower paced and more about being a building partner. Getting the business ready to be more led and less Founder Owner hands on.
120 days, a four-month partnership works best, and ensures that change actually holds .It is the space I think ‘phew..done’. Time for mining, untangling, then mapping, documenting and delivery with support to iterate.
This transformation is why after years of partnering with leaders, it is crystal clear that real change requires a minimum of a quarter. Short-term fixes create relief, but for relief to last you need systems embedded, consistency, easy to follow and shared processes… or it fades.
Your Future Deserves Space.
I work with only 2–3 clients at a time because depth requires presence. I am here to co-create the capacity you’ve been carrying alone. Because your business was never meant to rely solely on you, and your future deserves the space to grow.
You can absolutely start this work alone by dumping your responsibilities into a document and mapping your team’s real ownership getting ready to delegate. But if you want the journey to be strategic instead of reactive, and grounded instead of chaotic, I’m here
💬 If you want the next quarter to be different, let’s talk.
You don’t have to carry this alone.
